Plastic pollution is one of the most serious environmental challenges facing marine ecosystems today. Millions of tons of plastic debris enter oceans every year through rivers, coastal cities, and shipping activities.

Once, it can travel thousands of miles through ocean currents and accumulate along beaches and coastal environments.

Ocean Blue Project works with volunteers across the country to remove plastic pollution from beaches and waterways before it reaches the ocean.

By supporting ocean cleanup efforts, you help protect marine wildlife and coastal ecosystems.

The Growing Problem of Ocean Plastic

Plastic pollution affects nearly every marine environment on Earth. Scientists estimate that billions of pieces of plastic debris now exist in oceans worldwide.

Plastic waste breaks down slowly into microplastics, which can be consumed by fish and other marine animals.

Marine animals commonly affected by plastic pollution include:

  • sea turtles
  • seabirds
  • whales and dolphins
  • fish
  • marine mammals

Removing plastic from coastal environments helps prevent this debris from entering ocean ecosystems.

Your Donation Removes Plastic Pollution

Your donation directly supports ocean cleanup programs organized by Ocean Blue Project.

Example impact:

$10 removes 10 pounds of marine debris

$25 removes 25 pounds of plastic pollution

$100 removes 100 pounds of marine debris

$500 funds large cleanup events removing hundreds of pounds of debris

Each pound of plastic removed from beaches helps protect marine ecosystems.

How Beach Cleanups Protect the Ocean

Volunteer cleanup events are one of the most effective ways to remove plastic pollution before it enters the ocean.

During cleanup events volunteers collect debris including:

  • plastic bottles

  • plastic packaging

  • foam containers

  • fishing line

  • cigarette butts

Removing these materials from beaches prevents them from entering ocean currents.

Support Ocean Cleanup Efforts

Ocean Blue Project’s cleanup programs bring communities together to protect marine ecosystems. Volunteers participate in cleanup events that remove harmful debris while raising awareness about ocean pollution.

Your support helps expand these programs and remove plastic pollution from coastal environments.
