Block 15 is Brewing Up a Cleaner Planet with Ocean Blue Project

Ocean Blue Project’s partnership with Block 15 underscores a shared commitment to safeguarding our planet. Together, they are committed to conservation and protecting the oceans, aiming to create a cleaner environment for future generations.

Who is Block 15?

Block 15 was founded by Nick and Kristen Arzner, passionate beer enthusiasts who set out to share their love for beer and community in Corvallis, Oregon. Established in 2008, Block 15 has become a beloved local hub, offering artisan beers and handmade pub food crafted from locally sourced ingredients. The Block 15 team is committed to sustainable brewing, integrating eco-friendly practices into operations, and championing environmental initiatives. With locations in South Corvallis, a Downtown Pub, and the European-inspired Caves Corvallis, Block 15 remains dedicated to sustainable brewing and to positively impacting the community.

How Ocean Blue’s Collaboration with Block 15 Began

The partnership between Ocean Blue Project and Block 15 began in 2021, driven by a shared vision for environmental stewardship and local community involvement. As an Annual Corporate Member and CleanUp Crew Leader, Block 15 has hosted several cleanup events, raising awareness and rallying the Corvallis community to support Ocean Blue Project’s mission. Over the years, this collaboration has grown through various initiatives, including The People’s Pint campaign and collaborative cleanups with other Oregon breweries.

Impact and Achievements

Through collective efforts, Block 15 and Ocean Blue Project have made substantial strides in reducing plastic waste:

  • March 2021: Partnership begins, Block 15 becomes an Annual Corporate Member and CleanUp Crew Leader.
  • June 2023: “Pint for a Cause” event, a Nye Beach Cleanup with Buoy Beer and Sunriver Brewing.
  • 2023: Block 15 helped recover over 4,000 pounds of plastic from oceans and waterways, contributing to a total of 4,713 pounds.
  • 2024: Annual Oregon Coast Cleanup for World Ocean Month, removing another 4,000 pounds of debris.

Future Plans and Environmental Goals

Block 15 Brewery and Ocean Blue Project are excited to deepen their impact with more campaigns and cleanups, including an annual Oregon Coast Cleanup for World Ocean Month every June.

Join the Ocean Blue Project Movement

Ocean Blue Project is a community of environmental enthusiasts and volunteers dedicated to preserving oceans and waterways. People become part of a collective effort to make a difference by joining the mission. Together, we make a big difference, one cleanup at a time. Support and participation are crucial to Ocean Blue’s success.

Ocean Blue Project is making waves of impact with companies like Earth Breeze and we look forward to making an even more significant difference with additional funding. Every $1 supports the cleanup of 5 pounds of plastic and debris from U.S. beaches, bays and ocean bound waterways.

Let’s make a difference, one cleanup at a time.
